Role-Based Document and Apps Portal: Streamlining Access and Management with Azure
Document and Apps portal has been developed for listing the apps of different portals and documents as per the role. The site has been developed for displaying role-based apps returned through an API. These apps on click take the user logged in to the respective portal. This is developed to maintain one portal and avoiding users to login multiple times in different portals. The site has other features like storing secured documents and allow to view the documents on the role privilege, creating events and notifications, allowing sales team to upload the documents and share with the retailers
Goals & Challenges
The goal of the project is to create a portal that allows to manage multiple documents. The document sizes can be up to 1 TB and these must be uploaded without an error.
To achieve their business goals, client has come up with specific objectives and lay down a road map.
- Develop a customized website for maintaining applications, documents through the Azure Blob
- Render documents as per the role
- Ability to create events and display notifications
- Administration site to upload the secured documents, create events and unsecured documents

- Used Kentico Role based view of apps and docs
- Azure Blob for storing the documents
- Integration of doconut viewer which can open almost any file extension like docx, pdf, png, jpeg, excel, ppt, video files and so on, without a user installing the respective software to view the documents. This was one of the challenges as client was looking at a cost-effective solution
- Generating thumbnails automatically when a file is uploaded using the doconut API
