Silverlight does not only brings a rich experience to SharePoint 2010 but it can also playa functional role in it. To most people this means Silverlight-based web parts. But Silverlight can be more than that. Silverlight applications can be integrated in all SharePoint artifacts like navigation, master pages, application pages and custom field controls.
